Maya pyramid

Directly across from the church is the store's other monumental feature, one that I've been avoiding discussing so far because none of my previous photos do it justice -- a giant model of a Maya pyramid sitting directly over the entrance doors, right in the middle of the Marina roof, and surrounded by other elements inspired by Maya decor. Honestly, if this was all the interesting decor this whole store had, it still would have been worth the visit! The faux sky painted around it is... not the best quality, to be sure, but this whole thing is still cool.

Now that is what I call a front end! That is a lot more interesting than the plain white front ends we've seen at recent Krogers and Safeway Modern stores! The pyramid especially fits the arched walls here. It is a perfect fit! In a way, it is very strange for this to be in a supermarket, but it is also quite neat.

I'm not sure if these are your last posts for the year, but if so, enjoy your break! We'll see you in 2024. Hopefully that isn't the year that Safeway becomes Krogerized!

Not quite -- I still have a few more photos to wrap up this set!
