This sort of gabled open-vestibule entrance setup was also a super popular store design feature in the 90s -- Sing Oil mentioned its similarity to a lot of A&P stores (which I'm not particularly familiar with, for obvious reasons), but similar designs were also used extensively by Safeway and all sorts of independent grocery stores around here. The all-glass nature of this one is particularly nice, though! I'm sure it would have let in a lot of nice natural light if I hadn't visited this store on such a grey, dark day.
Yep! This old A&P in particular is the one that comes to mind.
