This store was built in 1993 -- or at least that's what the BC property records show, though the striking glass spaceframe tower over the entryway has a serious 80s look to it in my opinion. I've never seen another Safeway, Canadian or otherwise, with this sort of look to it, which makes me wonder if it could have been built for another company originally, but I haven't had much luck trying to research that sort of thing for Canadian stores; either way, it has clearly been a Safeway since at least the early 00s, as we'll see soon.
