I was surprised to see that the salad bar was still hanging on in my post-COVID visit -- Safeway never had salad bars around here (as far as I know), but their other self-service food bars were mostly removed even before COVID, and we already saw how the self-service hot foods bar was removed at this store.
Interestingly enough, some Krogers around here, generally the higher-end ones, have salad bars still and they have survived Covid. I'll link to photos of the Galveston Kroger salad bar from July's The Year of Kroger post over at HHR. As you can see from that, it does appear as if the Haggen salad bar is quite a bit bigger than the Kroger one, but I wonder if the Haggen salad bar has as many bottles of store brand salad dressing as the Kroger one! Kroger doesn't miss an opportunity to promote their store brands, lol.

Oh, technically Kroger calls their salad bar the 'garden bar'. Who knew? Lol.
Interesting! I don't think I've seen a salad bar at any of the QFCs I've visited, or Fred Meyers for that matter.
