The central part of the store is home to the frozen food department, which is somewhere I would have expected to see upgrades, but no -- the original 80s cases are all still intact, even the coffin cases down the middle! I can't remember the last time I visited a store with open frozen cases -- I know Winn-Dixie has held onto them in a good number of stores (at least until recently), but nowhere in my area has (and I'm not sure if they were ever all that common in the Northwest). I would have expected a place like California, known for high energy prices and strict efficiency requirements, wouldn't still have these ancient open cases hanging around!
I was about to say, this looks like a scene straight out of an ancient Winn-Dixie!
ReplyDeleteWinn-Dixie, is that you, lol! All of the flooring choices were starting to remind me of a 1980's Winn-Dixie anyway, but this really seals the deal!
