I enjoyed all the banners encouraging passers-by to "come in and explore" -- normally, "exploring" stores (rather than simply shopping at them) is something stores actively discourage! Unfortunately, first impressions from the exterior aren't all that great -- while the V-shaped columns in this plaza area are kind of neat, the building itself is clad in boring old concrete block and metal panels without a single pop of color to be found (apart from the Safeway logos, I suppose).
Huh, a new Safeway! Well, we can already tell this is a Safeway Modern store, but it'll be interesting to see how this compares to some of the relatively new urban Tom Thumb stores in Dallas. I'm sure there will be aspects to this store which I won't like, but then again, it's probably nicer than that Raley's, lol.
ReplyDeleteHa! I definitely thought Raley's was a much nicer store, but I guess we'll see how you feel!
