Sincerely, cows

I don't have much of anything to say about the meat counter, which loops pretty standard -- perhaps a little bit larger than what the average Safeway has, but nothing particularly special. I haven't mentioned the extra trim along the perimeter walls, which now separates the departmental wall colors from the default Lifestyle v3 greige -- originally, the area within the trip would have had Pavilions Lifestyle's special sponge-paint finish, while the lower areas had normal Lifestyle Beige paint.

It's quite interesting to see the lighting here. Not only are all the lights connected to form a solid line, but they seem to run left-to-right. The left-to-right set up was something Randall's did pre-Safeway ( https://houstonhistoricretail.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/img_0135-jpg.webp ), but that was with recessed strip lighting where having the lights next to one another is expected. Most Randall's lost this type of lighting during Lifestyle remodels and then the lighting fix usually took more of a strip light approach.

    1. Yeah, it is interesting -- the older photos I was looking up yesterday seem to show that this was a standard thing for older Pavilions stores, and I guess some of them didn't get Lifestyle lighting for some reason. I would have thought these extra-fancy stores should have had fancy lighting to match, but apparently not always!
