Purple-light special

Colorful mood lighting seems to be a big trend these days, but I've never seen it in a grocery store before! I'm not entirely sure what I think -- it's certainly a cool and different look, but it also makes this aisle look even darker than it would otherwise. I wanted to make a musical reference here, but it turns out I have songs in my library relating to yellow, green, and blue lights, but sadly not purple.

Ha, this reminds me of something, but not something favorable. The Kroger Greenhouse store located closest to me before it was replaced with a new Kroger Signature store in 2002 had a big vertical bug light with a blue-purple light not too dissimilar from this. So, yeah, this reminds me of a big bug light. The overly industrial design that looks like very basic Safeway Modern decor doesn't help either!

As you can probably guess, I'm not a big fan of this Raley's so far, lol. At least the pizza isn't too expensive.

    1. Now that you say that, it makes me think how I used to see those all the time but really don't see them much anymore! I thought your analogy was going to be the one HHR made below 🙂

  2. There is a song called Purple Light! It's from about 10 years ago, and features Doja Cat, long before she was famous. Although, looking at the way the light falls down the sides of the walls, I gotta say, this looks more to me like Purple Rain, lol.

Also a bit harsh, but it kind of reminds me of anti-drug lights you'd see in a bathroom. Hopefully, that isn't a problem at the Raley's deli!

    1. I figured as much -- there's a song for everything! I decided Purple Rain was a bit too obvious of a reference 😉
