Unlike the original Nordstrom/Best space on the west wing, the JCPenney at the east end of the mall has a proper court space out front, with a much more open design than the center court at Macy's (though it has one row of similar pillars along the right side). The layout down here is quite unusual, with JCPenney wrapping around two sides of the court, and the corridor to the eastern mall entrance running straight under the JCPenney sign (behind the tree in the background). The whole space feels like it was carved out of the JCPenney building, but that doesn't appear to be the case as the store has multiple levels above the roof of the court; however, the hallway to the exit does appear to be within the anchor building, as we saw from the outside.
