Putting the floral department over by frozen foods is an unusual choice by any standards, but from this angle, this looks like any other Lifestyle floral section out there -- except for the odd decor, of course! The colorful walls behind the translucent, edge-lit product photos give them an interesting look, especially when they have lots of clear (or white, in the previous photo) area that the wall color can shine through.
Ha, if you think this is strange, just wait until you see one of the Krogway stores which will be featured on The Year of Kroger later in the fall! There, floral leads to frozen foods with almost no transition at all! The Krogway in question has one of the strangest, most confusing layouts you'll ever see at a supermarket though so I suppose such an oddity is to be expected!
ReplyDeleteThe translucent graphics are interesting. I'm pretty sure our Colorful Lifestyle v2 stores don't do anything that fancy, but maybe I've missed something.
That does sound weird! I'll be looking forward to seeing that store!
DeleteThose product photos are another Pavilions Lifestyle remnant that Vons left in place. I'm guessing they were just too much effort to remove, since recent Colorful Lifestyle/Lifestyle v3 remodels have often installed historic photos in their place, though I'm not sure if Vons is doing that. I'm not really sure what Vons is doing at all right now, for that matter!
