Capital Nursery Co, Sacramento

The self-service meat department continues along most of the back wall, with some quite nice decor above -- a vintage Capital Nursery Co sign (from the business that used to be on this site) and a shadowbox thing that incorporates the word "SACRAMENTO" with various potted plants. Given the apparent controversy involved with the redevelopment of this site, I suspect this whole display is intended to play homage to the old nursery.

Out of all the images of this Raley's, this is the first scene which does not look completely hideous to me! The neon is strange local flair, something which was essentially forced upon the store. Oh well, whatever the reason, it is kind of neat even if it doesn't really fit in. The wood stuff to the right of it looks like Kroger Artisan decor, but it actually looks to be 'real' here. I'll give them credit for that even if fake plants and lunch meats are a bit of a strange combination.

It looks like those are those coolers with the really thin and flimsy doors. I know those well from Kroger, unfortunately.

    1. I'm never going to say bad things about a cool neon sign! 🙂

Yeah, those seem to be becoming more and more common these days for cases that historically would have been open. They look nice, but you're right about how flimsy they are!
