All off-kilter

The top floor is home to the home department, which is always the one and only part of a department store I find interesting! Though this one isn't making a great first impression, with the christmas ornaments at the end of the actionway being nowhere near centered on it, and not even all hung at the same height. Macy's normally does a pretty good job of hanging these in my experience, so it's odd to see just how much they failed this time.

At my local mall, the Macy's men's department and furniture are in the old Montgomery Ward. Thus, the old original Foley's building is now the Macy's women's and home goods store. With that, home goods are certainly the only interesting part in the old Foley's building! This is a shame because the old Foley's used to have a lot of interesting departments like electronics. Oh well.

This home department in the photo looks a bit boring. I'm guessing some of Bed, Bath & Beyond's customers might end up at Macy's, but it looks like Macy's could put a little more effort sprucing up these home departments.

Macy's Money? Is this Macy's version of Kohl's Cash? I didn't even know Macy's had such a thing! I guess this is what Macy's is doing now after the Plenti disaster, lol.

I have to admit it's a bit strange seeing photos of Christmas decorations while fireworks are going off and it was very hot today! I suppose this is a bit like an Australian Christmas, lol.

    1. Interesting that home goods and furniture are split apart there -- I thought Macy's normally kept those departments together in split stores! Well, except where there's a dedicated furniture store, at least.

Yeah, unfortunately, this is quite a boring store on the interior. I feel like the home department is a little less boring than the clothing areas, but maybe that's just I find the products more interesting.

Ha! It nearly got up to 90 here today, one of our hottest days of the year so far. I'm sure 90 doesn't seem all that bad to you, but it's no fun for me!
