JCPenney is the last remaining original anchor to this mall (not counting the Bon Marche/Macy's due to the merger and name change), having opened in 1965 -- I imagine it was at least a little bit less bland in those days! Interestingly, there's an entrance to the mall built right into the right side of the anchor building -- can't say I've seen that before! I wonder if it was original or added on at some point.
