If the customer service counter being right across from the bakery wasn't weird enough for you, well, Safeway put a big bulk goods display right in the same space to add to it! This is nowhere near the produce department, I'll note. The customer service sign is the third of four major department sign styles to be found in this store; it's interesting how it uses the all-uppercase style of Proto-Lifestyle (though a different font) while the oval signs instead are in all lowercase, like in Lifestyle. The service counter itself is a mishmash of different eras, with late-Lifestyle hanging signage and some new Sincerely stuff creeping in. You'll be seeing a lot of trams in the background if these pictures, since the two window-walls of the store both face major tram lines; the one seen here is quite possibly the one I took to this store heading back the other way!
