I seem to have found this part of the store rather photogenic, since I have a lot of duplicate pictures over here, and I'm not even posting all of them! I would have loved to have a comparison from before the remodel, but this is exactly the sort of broad overview shot I didn't tend to get back then, and still sometimes forget unless I'm paying close attention. The stairs in the background lead up to the seating mezzanine, with further stairs to the side entrance around the corner to the left.

Ha, I thought that said The Kroger Marketplace as well when I first saw it in the other photo!
ReplyDeleteThis part of the store does look nice and Modern hasn't really done anything to take away from the nice looks of this area. The combination of a clean drop ceiling, nice flooring, and decor that isn't too out there makes this look nice and clean. It's not cartoonish and it isn't industrial. It just looks like a nice place to be. When Safeway does this right, there aren't many other grocers who do the 'classy' look better than them. Of course, even though this store isn't that old, I know newer Safeway stores are more industrial than this, sadly.
