I quite like how a lot of Vancouver-area Safeways have a large provincial flag hanging in the entryway -- that's another bit of local flair that I can't imagine Safeway (pre-Sobeys/pre-Albertsons) ever doing! Less nice is the massive wall of chips, which just gives me a bit of an uneasy feeling (probably because it looks like it could fall over at any minute!) and which is rather useless since there's no way to get to the bags towards the top without a ladder. The dedicated "lotto center" desk is an interesting touch too, and I wonder if that was a Safeway or Sobeys thing.
