Stepping inside

Things become much less interesting once you get inside the store, which has a fairly standard version of Banner without any particularly notable features. Though the Dip display in the furniture department is odd -- I thought that (stupid) brand name was only used for clothing, but looks like it must have been used for home decor and furniture at some point too, seemingly for a very short time as I can find no references to it at all on the internet (of course, one of the many shortcomings of the Dip name is that it's difficult to find anything at all about it online!).

  1. Ha, when I think of Dip furniture, I think of a cheap sofa or an old mattress which has a dip in the middle from wear. Granted, I suppose the name isn't any more stupid for furniture than it is for clothing...aside from swimsuits maybe.

The interior of this store doesn't look too hideous at least by the standard of modern Fred Meyers and Kroger Marketplace stores. The older Fred Meyer-specific decor stores appear to be nicer, but at least this isn't an Artisan store!

    1. Ha!

I personally like Banner quite a bit more than any Fred Meyer decor that preceded it. The one thing that they certainly do have an edge on Banner, though, is the flooring, since most of them used relatively-fancy vinyl flooring rather than the concrete they use these days (but the stained concrete in this store looks pretty nice, actually).
