Jagged

Despite the name, I'm hardly seeing anything natural in this "Neighbourhood" so far! Off to the right is Winners, which is basically the Canadian TJ Maxx, being owned by the same company, which also happens to own Marshalls just down the hall. This is (at least) the second example of similar stores, owned by the same company, right next to one another that this mall has, following Pro Hockey Life and Sport Chek at the other end of this long hallway. (This probably would have been a longer post, but the topic was already discussed at length in the comments yesterday!)

  1. I guess I started the Winners discussion too early! Oh well, lol. I suppose with stores like TJMaxx and Marshalls, even two stores near one another might have different items for sale given the nature of closeouts stores. Thus, someone shopping for bargains might well shop at both locations looking for that exceptional deal. Thus, maybe keeping the stores close together makes sense to ensure bargain hunters visit both stores, but it's still a very strange situation. It's even more strange that Canadian Tire would do this at the mall because their stores aren't closeouts stores!

    1. I suppose that is true, though on the other hand, you could achieve the same thing, more efficiently, with one store that's twice the size! Pro Hockey Life and Sport Chek probably have more to differentiate them, in my opinion.
