The far side of the City Neighbourhood has to be one of the most boring parts of this mall, with nearly the entire right side of the corridor taken up by Marshalls' very bland facade. While it's certainly a lower-end store, Marshalls may well be the closest thing this mall has to a typical department store anchor! I have no clue what it's supposed to represent, but the fairly interesting ceiling art over here helps break up the blah look, at least.

  1. This mall also has a Winners which is a very similar to Marshalls. In fact, it is owned by the same company as Marshalls, TJX. I suppose Winners can be seen as the TJMaxx of Canada, but maybe TJMaxx is in Canada as well. I'm not sure. Just as I can't really tell you much of a difference between TJMaxx and Marshalls in the US, I'm sure there isn't a big difference between Winners and Marshalls in Canada. That said, that has never stopped TJX from putting two of their stores together in close proximity. In fact, in Houston, we have a shopping center that has a TJMaxx, Marshalls, and a HomeGoods! It's a TJX supercenter! It's actually in a fancy part of town as well...the kind of neighborhood where they call their Office Depot an OfficeMax. At least in Houston, that's a sign of glitz and glamor, lol. Link: https://goo.gl/maps/xuXQyQmrruXvn6ri8

    1. The main difference I'm aware of is that Marshalls has a full shoe selection, and TJMaxx has jewelry. Other than that... not much!

    2. Yeah, I was going to talk about Winners/TJ Maxx when I got to that part of the mall, which will be today 🙂

I've always found it funny when TJ Maxx and Marshalls are right next to one another like that -- like you said, they're basically the exact same store!
