This mall is essentially a figure-eight shape with the food court right in the middle, a design that seems so obvious that I'm surprised it wasn't much more common -- though I imagine it probably wouldn't work as well with typical American malls with a relatively large number of anchor tenants. It works quite nicely here, with the massive food court also serving as a pass-through between the two sides of the mall, while being quite a bit busier than a typical corridor would be, thanks to Canadian malls' busy food courts.
