Given all the other First Nations-inspired design choices here, I imagine the food court was designed to have a Longhouse-like look. It also fits in with the general architectural style that has become popular in this area over the past decade or so -- exposed wooden structure, angular design, and lots of natural light. (Admittedly, this is basically Northwest Modernism from the 50s and 60s dusted off and brought back into fashion, not that that's a bad thing!)
