I don't normally start off a set with a front end picture, but this one nicely shows what's so interesting about this store -- it's still identifiably a Safeway, with the Marina roofline and Lifestyle checkouts and floors, yet on the whole, it looks nothing like any Safeway still connected to the main company. I haven't yet made up names for Sobey's' decor packages, but I believe this is their newest one, and has been used in several recent Vancouver-area Safeway remodels. (I'm also unsure if they're using the same decor for Thrifty Foods -- I haven't come across any of those that appeared to have been recently remodeled.)
This looks pretty good so far. The different colors on the Marina wooden beams is a bit odd, and I suppose this Sobeys decor package is a bit basic on the graphics, but it does have a rather bold look. It would probably look a lot worse in a warehouse store than in a Marina store though, but that could be said about most decor packages, lol.
ReplyDeleteI think you pretty much nailed it -- bland, but still pretty nice! I think I like it better than the previous Sobey's/Safeway decor we saw since it's not all 2D, printed wallpaper, at least.
