Before moving on, here's one last look back at the electronics department, with the back of the clothing section in the background -- certainly a strange department combination to see at Fred Meyer! Of course, everything about this electronics department is strange for Fred Meyer, particularly the fact that it's out in the open on the salesfloor at all. Clearly, this is a low-theft area, since they don't even have locked cases for the merchandise like I've seen in other Fred Meyers without a dedicated electronics alcove!
I don't know, I think Dip has Democracy beat as far as strange clothing brand names go. For better or for worse, Fred Meyer has/had both! I wonder if any of Democracy's items were made in a democracy.
ReplyDeleteDip is (in large part) what I was referring to there! But as weird as "Dip" is as a clothing brand name, I still feel like "Democracy" is an even weirder choice, particularly seeing as it's a rather loaded word these days.
