Price Checker & Help Center

The most obvious Toys R Us relic visible from within Spirit was this old price scanner station, which was strangely left exposed to the salesfloor, and which Toys R Us surprisingly left behind the electronics of -- I wonder how many Spirit shoppers tried to use this before realizing it wasn't powered on! 🙂 This was a bit further along Spirit's back "wall", in what appears to be the kid's costume area (which is always smaller than I would expect at Spirit).

  1. There's not much help at this center! I suspect that Spirit R Us customers probably have tried to use these price scanners. I know I've been to a few retailers around here recently, Kohl's comes to mind, where nearly every price scanner was out of order. Well, in the case of one Kohl's, literally every price scanner in the store was out of order. It seems that stores these days aren't doing a good job maintaining their price scanners! So, yeah, with that in mind, it may not even dawn on people that this scanner is from a totally different retailer and was simply left behind since dead price scanners are so common these days.

    1. Yeah, it definitely seems like a lot of stores are giving up on price checkers, either removing them or just not keeping them in working order. Which is a little annoying, since it seems like stores these days tend to be much more of a mess than they used to be, meaning it would be nice to be able to check what price things actually are!
