Anonymous in Houston and I were joking a while back about how malls seem to be entirely made up of shoe stores and women's clothing stores these days, but there's an important category we forgot -- cell phone stores! Somehow, Spokane Valley seems to have been spared that blight, but there's still a T-Mobile store here, in a fairly prominent location near the food court/main entrance. I swear, basically every non-dead mall in the Seattle area has at least one store from each major cell phone brand -- sometimes even multiple of the same brand!

Hopefully the employees of this T-Mobile store stay in their store and don't start hounding customers walking down the mall corridors the way that kiosk cell phone store employees do! At least that's what they do around here.
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, the thing at the local mall which is of most interest to me from a shopping perspective outside of the anchors is the Comcast (the cable company in this area) store at the mall. It's not like I need to go there often, but at least they are there if I need to swap equipment. That's pretty sad that the cable company is the biggest draw at the mall! Of course, just about everything else there are shoe stores, women's clothing, and cell phones. Oh, and bad t-shirts, of course.
I haven't really had that problem, but it seems like cell phone stores around here prefer actual storefronts to kiosks! (Though there are sure a lot of cell phone repair kiosks...)
DeleteYeah, cable company stores are another frequent sight in malls around here, but at least there aren't as many cable companies as cell phone companies, and they tend not to duplicate stores quite as much either!
