Same old Starbucks, too

I remember not particularly liking the new Safeway logo when it came out (when I was a kid), but it's definitely grown on me over the years, and looks particularly nice in signage -- and it's good to see that it looks great on the curve here! Down below, the Starbucks sign wasn't updated, which is a little surprising -- it doesn't technically have the old Starbucks logo on it, but I don't believe they use this green wordmark anymore.

  1. I've seen the old round Safeway logo, the square 1980s logo, and now the current one all in-person at stores when they were all current. There's something iconic about the latter two, but the current logo looks pretty good as well. We certainly don't see the current logo all that often here in Houston though. We did see it some before the Albertsons merger as Safeway brand items often had the logo as well as things like reusable cloth bags and such, but now neither the Safeway or Albertsons logos are all that common at Randall's stores. Between the two, the Albertsons logo is the more frequently seen one.

    1. I've always liked the circle-S logo too, but I can't make up my mind on the 80s version. Even around here, there's a lot less Safeway-branded stuff than there used to be, with them switching over to "Signature Select" brands, but it's also very common to see Safeway/Albertsons dual-branding on various things.
