Speaking of weird things related to health and beauty... what the heck happened here? The shelving and category markers appear to be brand new, but for some reason, Sobeys-Safeway transferred the Lifestyle v2-era shelf-top decor from some other store onto the shelving. I have no idea why they would have done this -- while I have some nostalgia for it, this particular part of Lifestyle v2 is one of the only ones that's looking massively outdated at this point, and the decor elements themselves were looking a bit worn in places. This is in no way what I was expecting to see in this brand-new store!
Oh, and those weird "pharmacy area" signs overhead seem to be some sort of British Columbia thing, as I saw them across all sorts of different stores. I have no clue what they're about either.
Yeah, I'm certainly getting a heavy dose of Lifestyle v2 vibes here even without the specific items that you mention in the post! I don't mind it so much, but it is a bit strange seeing something so Lifestyle v2-like in a brand new store not even built by Safeway!
ReplyDeleteThe category markers and "pharmacy area" signs have a bit of a Lifestyle v3/Refresh feel too! I have to wonder if there are people in Safeway Canada management with a bit of nostalgia for the old days...
