Grocery Palace of the North

 

But I'm not just excited about this store because of Thrifty being a childhood staple for me -- this store also has one of the coolest decor packages I've ever seen outside of Grocery Palace, and in fact, it has a somewhat similar look to Grocery Palace. This pre-Sobeys decor package was once pretty common in Thrifty stores, at least the ones I visited, but seems to be much less so these days, so I was extremely happy to be able to visit this store while it still had this look, which I'm going to refer to as "Grocery Palace of the North", or perhaps "Thrifty Grocery Palace" since that initial name is a bit long-winded.
