Fresh baked balloons

Continuing past the deli, the first sign of this store's weirdness shows up -- the bakery is right next to the deli, essentially switching places with the liquor department, which is behind the bakery instead of between it and the deli. I have no clue what the "true" left wall of this store is -- the deli, the bakery (at about a 45 degree angle), or the liquor wall (at another 45-ish-degree angle).

  1. Having a deli and bakery next to one another is certainly nothing strange at Randall's locations. Having liquor next to either of these departments would be kind of strange at many Randall's locations here though. At my local Randall's, the bakery and deli are at the front of the produce department and the liquor is back behind the produce department against the back corner.

Speaking of my local Randall's, I finally made a guest post about it over at HHR. Actually, Mike took photos of it recently and then asked if I could do the post since it's a store whose history I know well since I've been shopping there for decades. I certainly said yes to that! Mike wasn't able to photograph everything in the store since he reported that the store started to get busy during his visit which made taking photographs difficult, but I think enough is photographed to get an idea of what's going on. I hope you enjoy the post! You'll certainly like the not-so-local flair of the old Albertsons photo in the entryway of this store, lol. 1. Around here, produce being near any of those other departments would be weird! Normally it's on the opposite side of the store from the bakery and deli, bookended between floral in the front and meat at the back.

Cool to see that! That's certainly quite an interesting and odd store.
