With that side trip out of the way, it's time to head halfway back across the station, to the Westlake Center entryway. This space is really the centerpiece of why I feel like Westlake Station, combined with Westlake Center and Pacific Place, could almost be classified as one big mall -- back in the day, you could walk inside all the way from Macy's to Barnes & Noble, though doing so would have admittedly been rather absurd (down to the Macy's basement, down again to this level, up through Nordstrom to the top floor, then across the skybridge and back down to the basement)! But we all have our own concept of what makes a mall a mall, and for me, the biggest thing I look for is an enclosed (or at least covered) pedestrian connection between all of the shops, something this technically meets. 😃
