Between the chunky light boxes, wood paneling, and old-fashioned scales, this part of the store looks quite retro, and from a period even earlier than its 1995 build date! Most of the produce fixtures look relatively modern, at least, and I'm guessing they were added by H Mart at some point.
This might look a bit retro, but it doesn't look bad to me! I like it!
ReplyDeleteOn the topic of QFC, did you see that their store designs have made headline news in Seattle today? It seems two QFCs have put up plexiglass near the entrances and some shoppers are complaining about it potentially being a fire hazard or something even though the Seattle Fire Department doesn't seem to think it is a problem. Anyway, our Krogers have the gates, but not the plexiglass. Probably people are making a bigger deal out of this than it really is, but I'm sure it's odd to see QFC make headline news! Yes, I did see that! Not the first time one of the Broadway QFCs made the news for anti-shoplifting measures driving away customers -- between that and their closure of the old micro-QFC that they blamed on higher minimum wages (not something that's going to go over well in one of the most left-wing neighborhoods in the country), there's some serious bad blood between QFC and the Capitol Hill community these days.
