At the front of aisle 12, a portion of the barrier was formed only by low shelving, allowing me to get another look at the old frozen department. It doesn't appear that this front portion of the closed-off area was being used for storage, remodeling, or anything else I could tell. However, looking more closely at this picture than I did yesterday, it appears that the current aisle 12 frozen cases are probably the ones that would have originally formed the island in Albertsons' frozen department, just moved a bit back and to the left (relative to the front of the store, not to this picture's angle), and with only one side of the case actually in use.
