Campeón's customer service department is run out of Albertsons' old video rental space, as the floor decals still very clearly show, though I'm not sure if this was a change they made or if it's something Albertsons would have done when they bailed on the video rental business. (The Port Angeles store moved customer service to the former video space, but that happened during a full remodel, which this store clearly never got.)
My old Grocery Palace Albertsons moved its customer service desk from its original location in front of the pharmacy island to the former photo counter during a "refresh" in the late 2000's. The photo counter would have been just to the left of the video rental space from this angle. Its old video rental center was turned into a room with various self-serve machines (claw machines, Coinstar, Rug Doctor rentals, etc.) So I think it was common for Albertsons to relocate the service desk in stores from this era in the late 2000's, moving it wherever space allowed when the video/photo departments were shut down.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I had forgotten that Grocery Palace stores had a dedicated photo department. I guess all of the Grocery Palace-layout stores I've visited had their customer service counter moved at some point, since I've never seen one with customer service by the pharmacy box (sadly, I'm pretty sure I never visited a Grocery Palace Albertsons in their heyday, since we were generally Safeway shoppers on road trips).
