I was glad to see that this set of fitting rooms somewhere on the 3rd floor was closed, because it meant I could get a photo showing just how incredibly deluxe its lobby is! I'm never a fan of taking a picture with a lot of mirrors in it for obvious reasons, but somehow (and I have no clue how), I don't show up in this picture at all -- guess that means I'm a vampire! 😃
That must have taken some skill to avoid being seen in the mirror! As for the fitting room, this store has so far failed to look like a high-end department store, but the fitting room does look like what I'd expect from a store like this. Then again, for all of Macy's faults, they do have some nice fitting rooms as well.
ReplyDeleteCheck out this newish independent grocer in an old Safeway Marina store out in a small West Texas city. While the exterior doesn't look Marina-like at all (it took me some searching of government records just to confirm it was even a Safeway), it is pretty clear on the inside. The decor looks modern and nice. That's a rare combo! https://g.page/Porters-Big-Spring?share
Not sure if it was skill or just luck, but it sure took a lot of one or the other! 😉 Around here, most Macy's stores still look quite nice, which is probably more from the Bon Marche than anything else, from what I've seen in other parts of the country.
DeleteWow, that is a nice store! I've seen (and photographed) a lot of modified Marina stores over the years, but never one that looks anything like that. Looks like that store got a much larger front addition than any I've seen, too. And it's certainly nice to see the arches remaining unpainted, something that's quite rare these days!
