Meat and seafood fins

It's hard to pick my favorite part of the decor here -- so much of it is so good -- but I think it's probably the fin-shaped/boat-shaped signs for the meat and seafood counter. This is a very distinct, if not outright unique, style, and it just looks amazing. The pictures really don't do it justice. Looking at the counter itself, it's interesting to see the two different types of lighting -- pendant fixtures for the meat side and recessed ones for seafood -- which seems like an odd choice since there isn't really any distinction between the two counters otherwise. Perhaps the cases were replaced at some point and it made more sense in the Top Foods days.

  1. My local Fiesta Mart literally has a boat in the seafood department! Not only that, but it has animated neon and there are speakers there making ocean noises. Link: https://goo.gl/maps/WmqV8KgAQhoVFeyPA

That said, this Haggen does look very good back here. The decor looks nice and everything looks finished well unlike some grocers which leave exposed ducts and such from the coolers. The wood looks real unlike Kroger Artisan and such where the 'wood' is clearly fake.

Cool! That's a neat decor package, just going for a totally different aesthetic than this one 🙂
