Getting closer

I hadn't really realized how much of an oddball this store was coming into it -- I just knew that it's the only Marina store with minimal modifications in Washington that's still a Safeway. It's too bad that there aren't any regular Marina stores left, since this cost-cut version really lacks the same cathedral-like feeling of proper full-height Marina stores. Better than nothing, though. (So far, all of the minimally-modified Marina-era Safeways I've visited have been strange alternative prototypes, with the other two being Clatskanie and Reedsport with their gabled roofs.)
