This store got a major remodel in the late 2010s (with similarly bad timing as Pacific Place), and one of the major changes was the addition of a bunch of store-within-a-store kiosks. The hallway to the skybridge got one awkwardly crammed into it, a Sugarfina candy kiosk (which is apparently an actual brand, though not one I had ever heard of). It's nice to see that (faux-)neon signs are making a comeback, at least in department stores -- hopefully that will expand to grocery stores in the near future.
It's not quite a candy counter, but it's nice to see a candy department (or brand store-within-a-store at least) at a department store. The faux neon is a nice touch as well! I don't have a sweet tooth so I can't imagine buying anything from here, but it's neat that they have it.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is -- this place has quite a few classic department store elements that you don't often see these days. (Though the Macy's down the street also had a candy counter until the very end; unlike that one, this one seems to actually be open and staffed!)
