Another long-term tenant is Pike Place Chowder's secondary location, a few blocks up Pike St from the original Pike Place Market spot. I'm not a fan of seafood, so I'm not sure how good this is, but the place certainly seems popular based on my visit.
I'd be a bit leery to eat seafood from a dying mall. I'm not much of a seafood fan myself, but I know people who have gotten sick from dying mall seafood places presumably because these places have low product turnover and I suppose the food sits around for too long. Then again, this place looks busy enough that maybe that isn't a problem. It might be at certain times of the day though.
ReplyDeleteI tried posting the part below in the Johnny Rockets post, but Blogger was eating my posts so I'll try it here...
Ah, you must not have heard of the Fuddruckers-Home Depot fiasco from the 1990s! The two partnered to open Fuddruckers inside Home Depot stores (yes, this was very strange, lol). They did open a few locations, mostly around Atlanta and on the east coast, but then things got ugly between the two companies as things fell apart. https://www.bizjournals.com/boston/stories/1997/10/13/story2.html
There were some crazy retail stories from the 1990s and that was most certainly one of them!
Ha! This place seems surprisingly popular so hopefully that isn't an issue here.
DeleteBlogger wasn't behaving well for me yesterday either. That is a very strange story! Any sort of restaurant inside a Home Depot seems like a weird concept to me...
