While Nordstrom is an "anchor tenant" of sorts for Pacific Place (it's not really a tenant as they own the building separately... though I think that's relatively common for normal malls too), it doesn't have a real mall entrance, with the little sign on the soffit here being the only bit of Nordstrom branding within the mall (and it's not even the current logo!). Clearly, the mall decided it wasn't enough signage, adding a temporary floor sign to emphasize that yes, this is the way to Nordstrom.
