MC Theaters

Here's a view looking north -- Nordstrom is on the left (with the Medical Dental Building taking up the rest of that block) and Pacific Place is on the right. It's too bad the AMC Theaters neon is partially dead like that. The curve in 6th Ave is where the downtown grid turns into the Belltown grid; the triangle created by the two grids is, for whatever reason, always a dead spot in my mental map of Seattle and as such I always get disoriented when I end up in that area! 😃

  1. It looks like it's saying that it is a 30 screen movie theater with that 'A' being burned out!

On a different note, here is something not so fresher than fresh that will make you (and maybe Retail Retell as well if he's seeing this) have a laugh. There's a chain of supermarkets in Texas called Brookshire's. They are not to be confused with the other supermarket chain in East Texas named Brookshire Brothers. The founders of the two chains were related and fortunately the two separate chains generally agree not to compete in the same markets or else things would really get confusing!

Anyway, Brookshire's opened a new store in Fate, TX, in the outer reaches of Dallas suburbia, called FRESH by Brookshire's. Tell me what you think, but I think this store is a complete rip-off of Kroger Artisan! Even the name of the store sounds like a Kroger knock-off! I wonder how Brookshire's thinks they can get away with this because Kroger is in the Dallas area. Link: https://goo.gl/maps/kFr8jUeHhXWp6SDy5

Here's one angle where it really looks like Artisan: https://goo.gl/maps/2AusG4fxpU9G3DF28

"Food for real eaters." What does that even mean? Lol, this is really, really bad. I don't like Artisan, but this looks even worse merely because they are ripping off Artisan. At least the wood Brookshire's uses is more credible looking than the fake stuff Kroger uses.

    1. Ha! This theater is big, but not that big!

Yeah, that design style seems to be quite popular these days. Some of the smaller chains around here have designs that look a lot like that too. That "food for real eaters" slogan sounds like something Kroger would use in their Fresh for Everyone ads too!
