This store's layout has an odd feature that's unfortunately all too common at QFC -- one of the two entryways (which is not in any way labeled as being an exit door) dumps you directly into the back of the checkouts. But at least that allows me to frontload one of the most interesting features of this store -- its register lights! This is the very rare first-generation design of Bountiful register lights, which are an elongated rectangular shape and have raised numbers and nice background vine pattern; these were soon displaced by the also-rare simplified second generation, which adopted Kroger's long-time cube shape, went with plain printed letters, and made the vines a foreground element; and then, of course, those were replaced with the ubiquitous plain white Bountiful+ cubes that are in practically every Kroger-owned store these days.
Interesting, I don't know that I ever knew about these! And thanks for the link as well.
ReplyDeleteBased on how rare they are even at QFC, I imagine they were long gone by the time Bountiful came to your area. And you're welcome!
