Nordstrom x3

Here's a more direct view of the Nordstrom building, looking up Pine St. The signs and (anachronistically modern) glass awnings are a recent addition, replacing some much more classic design elements. I should probably mention that this was not originally built as the flagship store for Nordstrom, but rather for Frederick & Nelson, another Seattle-based department store chain whose legacy lives on in Frango candies that are now sold by Macy's, before being converted to Nordstrom in the 90s. (I really don't understand how Seattle had so many department store chains based here back in the very early 1900s, when Seattle was in no way a major city!)
