Nameless

Up at the front end, here's a view of the checkouts (with their generic Bountiful+ register cubes) and the Neighborhood "thank you" wall -- which, strangely, is missing the neighborhood name that it normally includes. (Or, at least, I think that's the norm... of the four Neighborhood-decor stores I've visited, two have the nameless version and the other two don't have a thank you sign at all! I know I've seen stores with that, though.) That being said, the entryway neighborhood name sign is just around the corner (hiding behind those balloons), so maybe they thought that was enough. Who knows.

  1. Whoa, what's going on here? Between this photo and the Liquor Store picture, it appears this QFC had at least 5 manned registers open (lanes 2-6) at one time. I can't even remember the last time I saw a Kroger around here with that many registers open at one time. Usually seeing 3 manned registers open at a Kroger around here is a surprising sight these days, lol. Granted, I'm not so sure how often I visit these grocery stores during prime shopping hours. I suspect I do visit them at pretty busy periods on Saturdays though.

What's the story with the decor at this Safeway in Hawaii? It looks like it has some sort of modified, fancy blue version of Modern. I can't say I'm a fan of them pulling the Lifestyle v2 floor up and replacing it with, well, nothing, but otherwise the decor looks interesting. Is this a Hawaii specific thing? https://goo.gl/maps/GksRStDDdJs3jCWx7

    1. Ha! Unlike Safeway, QFC and Fred Meyer actually staff their stores properly and generally have enough checkouts to avoid long lines. (It also helps that these pictures are from 2019, before staffing shortages became so bad.) According to the display in the background, all 6 checkouts were open!

That Safeway decor has come up in discussions a lot lately! That's the "Ultra-Premium" package, which was originally designed for Pavilions and has since spread to the rest of the California division stores (the Northern California division is responsible for the Hawaii stores) along with Jewel-Osco. It looks quite nice from the limited photos I've seen.
