The frozen cases here probably aren't original, but they're still quite old even by Safeway standards! Strangely, the frozen aisle (and I believe there was only one) is extremely wide compared to the rest of the aisles -- I guess Safeway must have decided that moving the cases is more trouble than it's worth, even though they probably could squeeze in one additional aisle if they wanted to.
It's a bit odd seeing the front of the NAPA store across the street reflected in one of the frozen food case doors, but I guess that's what happens when a store has so much glass in it!
ReplyDeleteThere is certainly quite a beach scene on top of those coolers. I wonder if they take all that stuff down for the winter or if it just hangs out there even if it's out of season.
Speaking of tight frozen food aisles, the Memorial & Dairy Ashford Randall's in Houston has extremely tight frozen food aisles. I think this photo makes it look wider than how it feels, lol. My local Randall's has a somewhat similar layout, but at least the frozen food aisle is spaced out a bit more normally. Here's how the Memorial & Dairy Ashford frozen food aisle looked when the store still had Lifestyle v2: https://goo.gl/maps/LeiiuiUHu2Y38Jk27
Ha, I never would have noticed that! Reflections are crazy sometimes -- I have to wonder how that was actually visible this far away.
DeleteWow -- that's certainly narrow, even by northwest standards! My current Safeway has pretty narrow aisles, but I don't think they're anywhere near that narrow.
