Continuing past the pharmacy, here's an angled view back towards that along with the health and beauty wall. That section of shelving in the foreground sure looks like it's just where Walgreens put random stuff that they couldn't find another home for!
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHuh, clothing at Walgreens?! Who knows, maybe our Walgreens sells this stuff as well. I've been surprised by things I've seen there. Usually I only find out about these strange products when they end up in the clearance bins and I have to dig through strange stuff I don't have any interest in to find strange stuff I do have interest in, lol.
Walgreens is kind of a convenience store of sorts and C-stores certainly do sell some strange items! Even some of our regular Krogers sell some odd clothing items like tube socks and such. I've never seen anyone buy that stuff from a regular Kroger (or even a Kroger Marketplace, lol), but it's always on the shelves. I guess someone is buying it and I guess the profit margins are good enough to make up for the slow sales!
I probably mentioned this earlier, but I really like the flooring here. I also like the drop ceiling and lighting here. All in all, this place kind of feels like an upscale clinic than a retail store, but maybe that's what Walgreens was going for this design.
Yeah, Walgreens does have a lot of weird stuff -- that's why I wasn't too surprised to see this! And you're right about a lot of stores selling things you wouldn't expect to find -- I'm often surprised by the things I see in larger Safeways and Rite Aids, and I've also seen a lot of strange things at electronics and office supply stores. I've never understood why stores seem to dedicate a surprising amount of floor space to products that hardly ever seem to sell, but like you said, they must be making money off of it somehow...
