It feels weird to call this the "front end", but I don't know what else to call the row of checkouts

Continuing beyond the health and beauty section, you hit the weird checkout island setup. It appears that before the secured liquor department was installed, there was a way around the checkouts at this end of the store in addition to the far end, so it was a little less awkward, but checkouts in the middle of the store are still bizarre no matter what. At least it looks like this store has plenty of space for people to line up for the checkouts, something that most local stores (and especially Safeways) completely lack.
