Just like the main salesfloor, the skybridge elevator lobby was still all lit up, maintaining its contrast with the dark Amazon lobby in the foreground. But, of course, the security gate was down, and there's really nothing much to see through it.
By the way, my Safeway had generic "Thank You" bags today -- even more generic than the ones you've shown! These don't have any Albertsons/Safeway labeling. I have to wonder if they're having supply issues with their normal paper bags.
Yeah, the bags that Randall's is using here at least say that the bags can be returned to Tom Thumb, Albertsons, or Randall's stores so they are for sure custom-made bags even if they don't otherwise look custom. The one in your photo looks completely generic and are probably the same kind of bags that C-store owners and such can buy. Odd! Perhaps there is some sort of supplier issue.
I was at Randall's today and noticed that they still have the same bags they've had for about the last year or so (the ones like in the photo I sent you). The smaller sized bags had the Tom Thumb logo on them. That's obviously a bit strange for a Randall's store, but I can't say it's too unexpected either.
I did notice the conveyor belt at the Randall's had some kind of red wrap on it advertising some sort of new program Randall's/Safeway has. I can't remember exactly what it was promoting, but it was a bit of unusual in-store advertising!
Yeah, these really do seem to be some sort of off-the-shelf product (though a quick search didn't come up with this exact design, so I can't be 100% certain).
Before Albertsons/Safeway's Washington division fully switched over to dual-branding everything, it was not that rare to find things with the wrong brand on them (and even now, things that are single-branded with the wrong brand sometimes turn up!). So yeah, that's not particularly surprising to me either.
I've seen that sort of conveyor belt advertising once (but not at a store I was photographing, if I'm remembering correctly). It certainly grabs your attention! Can't say I'm a big fan, but it's something I'm surprised they haven't used more.
It's like a mall entrance, but not really!
