Fresh decor (?)

If you’re used to hearing me talk about the 2019-20 Modern remodel wave, mentioning that this store was remodeled in 2018 might seem a bit odd. Well, that’s because this store wasn’t part of that wave -- and it didn’t get Modern decor, either, instead receiving Lifestyle v3. Which is a little odd, since Modern had been in use since at least 2017 (when the brand-new Snoqualmie Ridge store opened), but of course, Lifestyle v3 is still in use to this day in other divisions, so I guess it’s not that weird. I’m not a huge fan of Lifestyle v3 when compared to Modern (and other, newer Safeway decor packages), but it is nice to have a bit of variety when almost every local Safeway seems to have Modern at this point -- now I know how Retail Retail and others from his area felt when Bountiful swept through that region!

Anyway, here's a look at the deli counter post-remodel. As with the more-common Modern remodels, this store got very minimal changes apart from the new decor -- no new cases, flooring, tile, etc -- though at least those elements from previous Lifestyle remodels go well with Lifestyle v3, unlike with Modern.

  1. While I do prefer Colorful Lifestyle v2 over Lifestyle v3, I generally do like Lifestyle v3 especially after seeing it in-person a few months back. It'll be interesting to see how Lifestyle v3 compares to Lifestyle v2 at this store. I know how you feel about Lifestyle v3, lol, but at least it's not a drastic change from Lifestyle v2.

On an unrelated topic, check out this pharmacy-only Walgreens in the Texas-Mexico border town of Del Rio, TX. It's in an old Exxon gas station C-store...a small C-store at that! Link: https://goo.gl/maps/UwPjvFzfrfSTYY8d8
