Interestingly, this store's coffee kiosk also seems to have been a victim of the pandemic, something I haven't seen elsewhere. And it wasn't just closed -- they completely walled in the kiosk with soda displays! It's also strange just to see that this store kept a Peet's kiosk when it was remodeled, since Kroger has been converting them all of their coffee kiosks to Starbucks during remodels for quite some time now. Off to the right is the neighborhood-name wall, one of the distinctive features of Neighborhood decor.
It's interesting seeing a Kroger property have something other than Starbucks even if this Peet's location might be closed at least temporarily. Do people in Oregon associate themselves more with California coffee than Seattle coffee?
ReplyDeleteThere are sure a lot of Starbucks in Portland, so I kind of doubt it! Fred Meyer actually had quite a few stores with Peet's kiosks, along with Tully's and Seattle's Best, but almost all of them have been replaced by Starbucks by this point.
