As cool as Heritage is, I was perhaps even more excited to see the leftover Blue and Grey Market "Ring for Assistance" sign! It's pretty impressive that this sign survived two different remodels over the course of just a few years. As you can kind of see, it's right next to the butcher block, and it's pointing to a doorbell that you would use if the meat department staff are in the backroom instead of at the counter (or at least that's what I'm guessing the intended use is). I meant to take a better picture of the entire setup, but clearly forgot -- oops. I remember my Port Angeles Albertsons having a similar setup, but that would have been removed way back in the late 00s when it got its PF&H remodel!
That is a great sign! I really don't remember those signs at our Blue & Grey Market Albertsons, but I suspect they probably had them if your Blue & Grey Market Albertsons had them since they did have similar layouts. Anyway, that's neat that some aspect of the 1990s remains in a store that has been renovated a couple times in recent times.
ReplyDeleteSure is! Who knows -- it's always possible that it was just a northwest/Washington State regionala thing.
